Life is a journey that includes peaks and valleys. Sometimes the valleys appear to have no end in sight, making us feel completely lost. No one is immune to finding themselves in this seemingly hopeless position. It is my focus to ensure that each client has an expertly skilled guide alongside of them assuring them that they are not alone and that there is hope. I strive for my clients to leave my office feeling known, cared for, and encouraged.

My professional career began in special education. I have taught in a variety of special education settings including five years teaching in a specialized program for high-functioning autism students and five years teaching students with severe emotional/behavioral diagnoses. Through these experiences I developed a special interest in supporting the overall mental health of individuals. This prompted me to earn a master’s degree in school counseling which allowed me to secure a position as a school counselor for the past six years.

While working as a school counselor, I obtained additional training in the area of Biblical counseling. I completed the Foundations of Biblical Counseling program from the Christian Counseling Education Foundation with the hopes of bringing faith effectively into my counseling practice. Training utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) andDialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) allows me to confidently implement these strategies when appropriate.
